Hotel Dunepanne

Hotel Dunepanne has made some extraordinary efforts in the recent period. It has however become clear that there is no prospect of making the enterprise financially sound.

This left the governing body of the non-profit organisation Dunepanne with no other option but to file for insolvency at the Commercial Tribunal Ghent, Bruges division.  The economic position of the non-profit organisation Dunepanne today does not allow the hotel to continue operating and doing so would demonstrate poor governance.
 

The case file was submitted to the Tribunal on Monday 13 May 2024 and the lawyers Yves and Marc Castermans of Houtkaai 15/02, 8000 Bruges, were appointed as trustee. The trustee can be contacted via yves.castermans@castermans-advocaten.be  

As a non-profit organisation, it was also with pain in our hearts that we had to make this decision. Our first concern is for the hotel guests and the staff. We therefore want to give you full information regarding the next steps.
 

New bookings at Hotel Dunepanne have no longer been possible since 15:00 on Monday 13 May 2024.
 

What if you are currently a guest at Hotel Dunepanne?

  • If you wish, you can continue to stay at our hotel on a daily basis until 31 May 2024 at the latest. Meals will be guaranteed and your room will be cleaned. In other words, we will continue to operate the hotel until 31 May 2024 inclusive. At check-out, you will be charged for the actual days of your stay and for consumptions made.
  • If you wish to terminate your stay earlier, this is also possible. At check-out, you will be charged for the actual days of your stay and for consumptions made. If the non-profit organisation Dunepanne still owes you money at check-out, the refund will be handled by the trustee.
     

What if you have already made a booking and become a guest at Hotel Dunepanne between Thursday 16 May and Friday 31 May 2024?

  • You will be able to stay at our hotel on a daily basis until 31 May 2024 at the latest. Meals will be guaranteed and your room will be cleaned. In other words, we will continue to operate the hotel until 31 May 2024 inclusive. At check-out, you will be charged for the actual days of your stay and for consumptions made.
  • If you wish to terminate your stay earlier, this is also possible. At check-out, you will be charged for the actual days of your stay and for consumptions made. If the non-profit organisation Dunepanne still owes you money at check-out, the refund will be handled by the trustee.
  • If your holiday is due to begin in the period from 16 May 2024 to 31 May 2024 and you would like to begin your holiday earlier, please contact Hotel Dunepanne by e-mail at dunepanne@zorgbedrijf.be or call +32 (0)59 23 61 31.  We will be monitoring the number of rooms available on a daily basis. If rooms are available, we will be able to fulfil your wish to begin your holiday earlier. However, your stay in Hotel Dunepanne will end on 31 May 2024 in all cases.
     

What if you have already made a booking and will become a guest at Hotel Dunepanne after 31 May 2024?

  • The trustee has decided that Hotel Dunepanne will cease operating on 31 May 2024. This means that you will unfortunately be unable to stay in Hotel Dunepanne.
  • If you have already paid a deposit for your stay at Hotel Dunepanne, the trustee will write to you as a creditor and invite you to file a claim. The trustee will verify your claim and check whether you are entitled to the amounts claimed.Once the insolvency has been settled, creditors will be paid from the assets in accordance with the relevant legal provisions.If there are sufficient funds, there will be no problem in repaying the total amount of your claim.
