Hotel Dunepanne

Hotel Dunepanne made some extraordinary efforts in the recent period. It has however become clear that there is no prospect of making the company financially sound.

This left the governing body of non-profit organisation Dunepanne with no other option than to file for bankruptcy at the Commercial Tribunal Ghent, Bruges division.  Non-profit organisation Dunepanne's economic situation today does not allow for a continuation and would demonstrate poor governance.  The case will be filed in court today.


The court will soon appoint a trustee. Once this decision is received, we will communicate the name and contact information of the trustee.
 

As a non-profit organisation, it is also with pain in our hearts that we have to make this decision.  Our first concern is for the hotel guests and staff. We therefore wish to keep you well informed of further steps in the coming days.

From 15:00 on Monday 13 May 2024, new bookings at Hotel Dunepanne will no longer be possible.
 

What if you are currently a guest at Hotel Dunepanne?

  • If you wish, you can continue to stay at our hotel on a daily basis. Meals are guaranteed and your room will be cleaned. In short, we will continue to operate the hotel until we receive instructions from the trustee. At check-out, you will be charged for the actual days of stay and consumptions made.
  • If you wish to terminate your stay earlier, this is also possible. At check-out, you will be charged for the actual days of stay and consumptions made. If non-profit organisation Dunepanne still owes you money at check-out, the refund will be handled by the trustee.
     

What if you have already booked and become a guest at Hotel Dunepanne between Monday 13 May and the appointment of the trustee?

  • If you check in today (Monday 13 May) and have not yet paid a deposit, we will not ask for a deposit at check-in either. At check-out, you will be charged for the actual days of stay and consumptions made. If non-profit organisation Dunepanne still owes you money at check-out, the refund will be handled by the trustee.
  • If you check in between Tuesday 14 May 2024 and the appointment of the trustee: You can still check in and stay at the hotel on a day-to-day basis. If you wish, you can check out early. At check-out, you will be charged for the actual days of stay and consumptions made. If non-profit organisation Dunepanne still owes you money at check-out, the refund will be handled by the trustee.
     

What if you have already booked and become a guest at Hotel Dunepanne after the appointment of the trustee?

  • First and foremost, the trustee will decide whether or not your stay at Dunepanne can proceed and under what conditions.
     

If you have already paid a deposit for your stay at Hotel Dunepanne, the trustee will write to you, as a creditor, and invite you to file a claim. The trustee will verify your claim and whether you are entitled to the amounts claimed.After the settlement of the bankruptcy, creditors will be paid from the estate in accordance with the relevant legal provisions.If there are sufficient funds, there will be no problem in repaying your total claim.
